Behold - tazaar is coming soon

THE FUTURE TWITTER MASHUP
Soon. Really. It’s going to be there soon. Our first Twitter mashup and homegrown project tazaar is just about to be released. It’s just that we managed to get a new species up and running quicker than it was possible to find and setup a decent hoster for our kick ass state of the art younameit Ruby on Rails app.

tazaar? Soon? Species?
tazaar is the name of our project. You could almost guess by the name that it’s a …. Twitter Bazaar! A place to buy and sell stuff via Twitter. From now on, whenever you’ve got something to sell or want to buy something: Use Twitter, add a #wtb (want to buy) or #wts (want to sell) hashtag to your tweet and follow up on it on tazaar. We think it rocks. Looks good. Feels good. Works. You’ll see it soon.

Soon was planned to be a couple of days ago, actually. 48 hours for concept, design, programming was the goal. And we almost met it. Until we realised that we had chosen a hoster, who said he could run a Ruby on Rails application. But not one based on the current version 2.3.2, as we found out. But we need that version. So now, soon is set for something like tonight or early morning. Keep fingers crossed.

And the species, well, to represent tazaar we invented the birmel. Half bird, half camel. As stand-ins for tazaars roots: Twitter tweets and the oriental bazaar. You can catch a shaky looking preview glimpse of it on our promo stickers. Those too are going to be around soon. Once we’re really online….
